Journal with Donnie - A quick tutorial

Hello everyone! I hope you're having a great start to your week. Mine's been a little hectic, but that's good - I like to be busy.

I would like to show you a tutorial how to make the little notebook I mentioned in my previous post.

You will need:
* Cardboard (I used a precut one by Sizzix sized 6x13 inches - from Archiver's)
- you could probably use thick cardstock - I haven't tried that, tho
* Cardstock
* Designer Paper
* Scoring Board & Scoring Tool
* Scissors
* Ribbon
* Strong tape or Glue
* Embellishments
* anything else you'd like to use/add

Tools &/or Necessities

Step 1.
Mark (it was a little tricky to do it without marking and ruler - because the cardboard was so thick) your cardboard for scoring at 4", 5", 9" & 10"
Score.

Step 2.
Cut your cardstock 6" x 12" and your DP 5 3/4" x 11 3/4" - I sewed mine, but you could just stick them together using glue. Add a little border to cover the missing 1 inch - I used Martha Stewart Border Lace.

The picture below shows the papers scored, but I would recommend that you just glue them to the cardboard base without scoring, but before you do that don't forget your ribbon or magnets or closure for your journal - I used ribbon, and then just bend them once everything is nicely glued together.

Below is the finished base. And now the fun part ...
...DECORATING...

Add your image, flowers, pearls, rhinestones, lace - anything you think looks good.

Here is my little piece for inspiration ... I made an inside pocket and a notepad - super easy.
I just cut a piece of cardstock for base, added the same size white printer paper, stapled them together (you could just buy a little notepad, if you wish) and taped the fancy DP on top.

And here is the front - nothing too overwhelming ...

Sweet Rock n' Roll Donnie playin' his guitar.

ENJOY!!!

Hugs,
