Fold Flat Box Card

Hi Inky fans! It's Inkette Sharon here with a fun new card design that's fast, easy and unique. It's called a box card but it folds flat in a regular size envelope - so it's perfect for mailing.

Here's a shot of the inside.  When you open the card the box appears creating a wonderful 3D effect on the inside.  To create this, it takes a sheet of cardstock 12x12 inches.  Cut the cardstock at 5.5 inches.

Now score your piece of 12x5.5 inch cardstock along the 12-inch side at these marks:  4" and 7.5" and  8" and 11.5".  You will fold it from right to left side and the part that is between 11.5" and 12" is the edge that adheres to the card front.  You can adhere it with Scor-Tape or glue but you adhere that portion as a last step.

Decorate the card front and the inside first before assembling.  I used Cowgirl Lili colored with Copic markers and assembled that on the front with my other embellishments.

Then I assembled the inside.  Here I used a Nestie circle die to cut my opening on the inside after I attached my designer paper.  I dressed it up with a circle frame that I created with the Nestie circle dies.  The sentiment was stamped, cut and adhered just below the circle window.  Then I assembled the box portion by using Scor-Tape and adhering the edge to the card front.  Once that was done, I used the punched out circle in the window I created with a copy of my colored image glued on it. It's easier to eyeball the proper location of your window image once you have the box portion assembled and the card in its open position.  A sentiment can be used in the window instead of an image - the possibilities are endless!

I hope I've inspired you today with this design and the adorable Cowgirl Lili image!  Thanks for stopping by!
