Hello everyone, it is Tonya! I hope you are having a fabulous day so far. I am excited that it is my turn to share a project with you. It is my hope to inspire you today. I have put together a short tutorial on my two in one pocket, card/gift card holder. :o) Sticking with this week’s Inky challenge I used red, white, and blue.
Start with a piece of cardstock 8 inches long by 4 1/4 inches wide. Score down the middle (short side) and fold to make a card. Snip the two, bottom corners to make a pocket shape. (The corners that are not attached)
Next cut a piece of patterned paper to cover the front of the pocket card. I used a piece of jean paper from The Robin’s Nest, but you can use any paper you like.
Using a ruler and a Copic marker (I used B34) to draw lines around the pocket and to ink the edges of the paper. Use a gold gel pen to add faux stitching right on top of the lines you just created with the Copic (see photo).
Cut a piece of ribbon approx. 10 inches long. Rap the ribbon around the front of the paper and adhere the ends on the back of the paper.
Adhere the paper to the card with a strong adhesive; leaving the top open.
Decorate as desired. I used an Inky Impressions digi stamp called Monster Blowing Bubbles. I also added red gems, a bow, an Inky heart charm and one of the new July 4th digi tickets.
Cut a piece of ribbon 10 inches long. Wrap the ribbon around the gift card (long ways). Tightly tie the ends with a piece of floss. Slide the card in the pocket between the piece of “jean” paper and the card.
I decorated the inside of my card, but you do not have to.
I hope you enjoyed my project, today. Be sure to stop by the challenge blog tomorrow for a new challenge. Also, we have a DT call out. You can find all of the information at the Challenge blog.
Thank you so much for stopping by! Until next time............
