MAKING A BACKGROUND WITH ALCOHOL INKS

Wow, I am the first post here in 2013, woo hoo!!  It's Audrey with you today and I have a new tutorial making a background with alcohol inks and glossy card stock.   First, pick your colors, I have chosen 3 Adirondak alcohol inks to begin and my glossy cardstock.
Next, randomly squeeze the ink on different areas of the paper.  You could be more deliberate about it and make a pattern, but my life seems to be so random, I always do everything pretty haphazardly:)

Afer I was done with the inks, I decided I needed something extra, so I brushed on some Judi Kins mica gloss just for a little extra color and some definition.

After trimming my paper to the size for my card, I realized there was too much white space for my liking, so I added a 4th color of alcohol ink.

Then, to make it dry quicker, I ran my heat gun over it and voila, my background!

Finally, I put together the rest of my card by affixing the image, base, etc.  I chose INKY IMPRESSIONS SHOP rubber stamp "LiLi's Birthday Cake" which I colored with Copics, Sakura and Atyou Spica Pens.  I cut her out with Sizzix die, added papers from Gina K. Designs and Papertrey Ink DP, cut out heart die with Sizzix and sentiment from my stash cut with Nestie.   Studio Calico crystals and pleated ribbon from The Ribbon Carousel finish off my card.  Hope you like it!
