Hello Inky Fans,
It’s been over a month since I posted an Inky card. I am so happy to be back! Today I would like to share how to make a card that is simple but elegant.
I was asked last week how I create my projects. For example do I plan my final project or do I design as I go. When I start my projects I do have a plan however as I begin working the project starts to take a life of it's own. Below are the products I chose for my initial design. In my initial planning I was going to use more of the Graphic 45 paper but as my card was beginning to take shape I decided to keep my design simple.
First I stamped my image with black Memento ink on to Cryogen paper. Next I colored my image with Copic Markers. Skin-E000, E00, R20; hair E50, E51, E53; pants and jacket E41, E42, E43; shirt, shoes headband R000, R01, R02, E44, Y21, Y38; leaves R35, R37, YG95,YG97, Y11, Y13, Y15, YR18, YR24, Y38, YR00, YR00. I used the Spellbinders die to cut out the image.
Now how I applied the Frantage. First, I cut my image with the die, I chose Aged Scarlet Frantage for my design. I used a tiny spoon with a small amount of Frantage and gently dropped it on the background of the colored image. Warm up your heat gun. Then use the heat gun under the image. I move the heat gun around so it doesn’t burn the paper. You will be able to tell by looking as it melts. I recommend that you use a little at a time. If you want it heavier you can add more. I wanted to the viewer to get the illusion that the leaves were tossed in the air and I used Frantage to create the motion of particles falling.
I used Frayed Burlap distress ink on the edges of my designer paper and my die cut. I added a bow to my designer paper, attached the designer paper to the card. And there you have it. A simple card with a touch of elegance.
Here are a few close up views of my card:
